Maintenance of safety padlocks

Over time, airborne dust, particles, and chemicals may accumulate and enter the padlock. Follow these guidelines to keep your safety padlocks in optimal condition.

Cleaning steps

  1. We recommend performing a routine cleaning annually. In high-dust or corrosive environments, padlocks should be cleaned every three months.
  2. Apply a small amount of dry lubricant powder into the keyhole and shackle slots.
  3. Insert the key, then lock and unlock the padlock several times to distribute the lubricant evenly. Wipe any excess lubricant off the key.

Attentions

Do not use oily, dry graphite and silicone lubricant. Oil can make the dust accumulate easily. The graphite lubricant is always excessively used; it can affect the activities of the parts.
